The rates I set are inclusive of various elements beyond the time spent directly with your student. They encompass:

Prior to each session, I invest time in careful planning and preparation to ensure a tailored and effective learning experience for your child.

The prices include any essential supplies and materials that we might use during our sessions together. This ensures that your child has access to all the resources needed for a successful learning journey.
By providing a comprehensive package within my rates, I aim to create a seamless and enriching tutoring experience that supports your child's academic growth and success.
What are your certifications and qualifications?
I hold a Master's degree in Special Education, a Master's degree in Literacy, and a post-master's certificate in Educational Leadership. In terms of teaching certifications, I am certified to teach Elementary Education (K-5), Special Education (K-12), and Secondary Math.
My journey in education began officially in 2007 as a public school teacher, but my passion for teaching started long before then. During my high school years, I worked at the YMCA where I obtained certifications in various areas, teaching everyone from infants to retirees. I've also contributed to the educational field through roles in a family daycare center and private schools, serving as both a teacher and teacher aide.
While my professional experience is extensive, it's also deeply personal. As the parent of a child with dyslexia and ADHD, I have firsthand knowledge of the challenges and triumphs that come with learning differences.
How do I schedule a tutoring session for my child?

What subjects do you offer tutoring in?
I offer a wide range of tutoring services to support your child's academic success. These include, but are not limited to:

Do you offer specialized tutoring for students with learning disabilities?
Yes! I have a wealth of experience working with learners of all abilities, including those with learning disabilities. I understand the importance of individualized approaches to learning and can tailor tutoring sessions to accommodate your child's unique requirements.
In addition to tutoring, I also offer consultative services aimed at providing guidance and support in understanding your child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the special education process. Do you offer group tutoring sessions?
Yes and no. We do offer group sessions, but only in specific circumstances where it is a curated group that we have created. These may include:
- Book Clubs
- Summer Series Workshops
- Math Boot Camps
However, we generally prefer and recommend private, individualized sessions for the best learning outcomes. Here's why:
Tailored Content:
Each student often requires individualized content and attention. Sharing a session can limit the depth of engagement we aim for with each student.
Comfort and Confidence:
We've observed that students may feel inhibited in front of their siblings, especially regarding their academic struggles. They might hesitate to ask questions or seek clarification for fear of appearing "dumb" in front of a younger or older sibling.
Our primary goal is to ensure each student receives the focused attention they deserve to excel in their studies. Private, one-on-one sessions allow us to personalize the learning experience, address specific challenges, and foster a supportive environment for growth and success.
While we do occasionally offer curated group sessions for specific programs or themes, we find that individual sessions yield the most effective and rewarding results for our students.
What ages do you work with?
I am dedicated to providing educational support for a wide range of ages and academic levels. I offer services from preschool through some college-level courses. My diverse educational background equips me with the flexibility to assist students of varying ages and in a multitude of coursework.

How often should my child attend tutoring sessions?
We recommend that students attend tutoring sessions at least once per week to maximize the benefits of the learning process. For optimal results and noticeable improvement, we suggest a minimum commitment of 6 to 8 weeks.
Think of tutoring as you would a fitness regimen at the gym. Just as you wouldn't expect to see significant results after a single workout, it takes time to develop new habits and skills. Consistency is key to progress.
Moreover, building a strong rapport and trust between the student and tutor is an essential part of the learning journey. This connection often deepens over time, allowing for more effective communication and a greater understanding of the student's needs.
By committing to regular, ongoing sessions, your child can develop a solid foundation of knowledge, improve study habits, and gain the confidence needed to excel academically.

What is your cancellation policy for tutoring sessions?
We understand that schedules can sometimes change unexpectedly. To ensure the smoothest experience for all, we kindly ask that you notify us of any cancellations or rescheduling requests at least 24 hours in advance of your tutoring session.
Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee. Please note that no refunds will be issued for missed sessions.
